Influencer Interview: Love Affair with Traveling

Location: 4 min read

Travel and lifestyle creator Joanna Adach’s aka @the_essentialist_ admiration for the art of photography made all her travels more exciting. That exhilarating feeling she gets when exploring new destinations was a sensation that won’t let her put her camera down.

Playing around with different trends is a  sign that fashion is also dear to her. Just like travel, she would love to influence people with fashion as well.

We had the pleasure of asking her a few questions, and an interview with interesting ideas came out:

What’s your favorite place so far?

I think my favorite place so far has been Morocco. The country is so rich in culture and diversity that I feel like I could spend a lifetime exploring it and never get bored. Each city is different from the last and each has something special to offer. I will forever be intoxicated with it.

What place is the top of your bucket list?

The top of my bucket list at the moment is India, I long to walk the streets and take in all the colors, smells and views around me. I have heard that India is one of those destinations that can change a person’s perspective about traveling and I am eager to have that experience to see what it does for me.

What can’t you travel without?

I cannot travel without moisturizer and sunblock but most importantly I cannot travel without a great book. Every trip I take, I always try to make time for myself and to just get lost in a great book πŸ™‚ I feel the most in tune with myself during this time.

Do you prefer solo travel or with someone else?

I have done both and I genuinely prefer to travel with someone else but everyone is different and some prefer it the other way around. I think there’s just something to being able to experience a new destination, food,  or moment and having someone there to share it with. For me, it makes the experience complete and special. A family member, a friend or a significant other, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s someone special to me.

How many photos have you taken?

I have taken hundreds of thousands of photos! Too many most likely and mostly not of myself believe it or not but of landscape, people, food and anything interesting my eyes find.

If you could only ever eat rice or potatoes, which would you pick?

Potatoes, I am Polish so I think I am programmed to like them πŸ™‚

What’s the worst piece of travel advice you’ve received?

The worst travel experience I think I have ever received is to ask others for the advice! I know this one might sound somewhat strange and many most likely won’t agree, but for me, I think we are all different and like different things, so to take advice from others, you’re essentially asking what others personally liked and that can be completely different from what you may like! The best thing to do when it comes to traveling is to do your research and create your itinerary. I know myself best and therefore when I’m researching, I naturally will find things that I will be drawn to. I might have never even found some of those things if I just listened to the advice of others. Or perhaps, do a combination!

The sea – on it, in it or stay on dry land?

Stay dry on land because this was you hopefully have much more room to explore. Although I do love a good boat ride, I much prefer to be on the land with locals and more opportunities to discover hidden gems.

Have you learned to play any new games?

I always love learning new card games and any game that brings people together πŸ™‚

What destination have you found to be overrated?

I’m so afraid to say this as so many people say wonderful things about it but Barcelona! I didn’t have a bad experience while I was there but I also didn’t have an over the top great experience either. Everything from the food, culture and customer service was just okay to me. I much prefer other cities in Spain, for example, Madrid which had more vibrancy and passion. That being said, The La Sagrada Familia was breathtaking and I would gladly go back just to see it.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

I would describe myself as positive, adventurous and hardworking! I also very much strive to be these three things daily.
