Tropical North Queensland is a paradise unlike anywhere else. It is home to some of the most amazing landscapes known to mankind, fringed by the reef and enveloped by rainforest.

YouTube travel video/vlogger Hayley Andersen knew TNQ was the perfect place to uncover. If you’re planning to take a trip to the beautiful North Coast of Queensland, Hayley created a list of the best spots for those unexplainably remarkable Instagram-worthy shots and something everybody must experience in their lifetime!

HOW TO GET THERE
Contrary to many beliefs, it’s really easy to get to the North Coast of Queensland. The best option is to fly into Cairns, which is super easy from any main airport in Australia. The Spirit of Queensland train is also available five days a week from Brisbane to Cairns. You can also opt to jump on the bus running up and down the coast.
HOW TO GET AROUND
Hayley recommends either hiring a car, campervan or four-wheel drive to get around. Jucy Campervan is highly recommended!
AREAS TO EXPLORE

Swimming and showering underneath the light flow of Millaa Millaa waterfall was a bliss. It is the most iconic waterfall in the area due to its wonderful fairytale-like setting.

CAIRNS & THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
TNQ is blessed with breathtaking natural wonder if the world, the earth’s largest coral reef/living thing on earth (visible from outer space), and a world heritage UNESCO protected site; The Great Barrier Reef. It is an unbelievably heart-stopping, remarkable sight.

Thala Beach Nature Reserve is a resort near Port Douglas, but the main attraction of this place is actually the grand palm tree entrance!

Mossman Gorge
Mosman Gorge is one of the biggest tourist attractions in North Queensland. People are drawn here for the crystal clear, pure water and dramatic granite rock formations perched beneath the older rainforest in the world.
Daintree Rainforest
One of the most incredible and unique aspects of this rainforest is that it backs straight onto the ocean.
Cape Tribulation
Cape Tribulation beach looks like a scene out of Jurassic Park, with its complete isolation from civilization and the thick jungle mountain peaks lining the very rim of the ocean.
Here’s a fun road trip map from Port Douglas to Cape tribulation, including all the spots to stop along the way.
